Starting propane service, step by step

What to expect before you commit to anything: tank options, how delivery works, and what setting up actually involves.

Before you call

Switching propane suppliers, or setting up for the first time, is a shorter conversation than most people expect. It helps to know roughly what you use propane for and whether there is already a tank on the property. Everything else we can work out with you.

How it works

Step one, tell us what you use propane for

Heating, cooking, hot water, a pool heater, a generator, a forklift fleet. What you use it for drives what size tank you need and how often you will need a delivery.

Step two, the tank

We sell, lease and finance tanks, and we install sizes from 120 gallons up to 1,000 gallons, above ground or underground. Which option fits depends on the size you need and how you plan to use it.

Step three, choose how you get deliveries

Keep Full means we watch your usage and come before you run low, so you do not have to think about it. Will-call means you call us when your gauge reads about 30 percent. Both are on this site in more detail.

Step four, payment

You can pay online, or set up automatic payment from the method you keep on your account. There is no fee to join the budget plan, though the account must be at a zero balance before you start and a payment method must be on file.

Step five, the first delivery

Usually less than a week, and sometimes within two business days.
